Make Your Easter Personal

Celebrate Easter and make it personal

The truth of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is life-changing!

Amazingly, Jesus not only predicted ahead of time that He would be crucified but also that He would rise from the dead three days later.

As Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and on the way He said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death and will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and scourge and crucify Him, and on the third day He will be raised up." (Matthew 20:17-19)

It was necessary for Christ to die as a sacrifice for our sin. There was no other way for God's righteous justice to be satisfied and for people to experience salvation. Just as necessary was His bodily resurrection which dramatically signaled the magnificent truth that God was completely satisfied with the blood Christ shed for our sins. This is why Easter is such an important celebration.

After His resurrection, an angel appeared to two women disciples of Jesus with this very important news:

Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you. (Matthew 28:5-7)

The women had much reason to rejoice and also to go and tell the good news to others. And so do we!
