WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT

Giving at Westside

WAYS TO GIVE

Gifts to Westside are tax-deductible. They may be given online, mailed to Westside Bible Fellowship, 526 SE 9th Avenue, Hillsboro, Oregon 97123-4606, or dropped in the secure giving slot on the wall by the office at Westside. We discourage the use of credit cards if you will incur debt by doing so.

Giving online through this website or with Westside's Church Center app is simple and convenient, and it is safe and secure. You can quickly set up one-time and recurring donations using a credit or debit card or by setting up an ACH transfer from your bank account. This video explains how to give online, including how to set up recurring donations.

If your bank is not listed in the dropdown bank list, try to set up your bank account manually by clicking the link at the bottom of the verification screen. Westside is charged a small processing fee for all online giving, but the fee for ACH is less than giving by credit/debit card. You may opt to cover the transaction processing fees when you submit your gift.

You may designate your gifts in the following ways:
Where Most Needed - Fund for supporting the many Westside ministries that are included in the annual budget. This is a default designation.
Missions - Fund for helping make disciples of Jesus among people in other nations.
Camp Scholarships - Fund for helping Eagle Fern Camp campers who need financial help to attend camp.
Benevolence - Fund for helping financially-needy people with short-term help.
Building Debt Reduction - Fund for paying extra toward the remaining principle on our building mortgage.
Great Commission Fund - Fund for helping members of Westside participate in short- and medium-term mission trips.
Burundi Literacy Project - Fund for helping support a literacy project in Burundi that teaches people how to read.

WHY GIVE?

Our desire as followers of Jesus is to be a serving and giving fellowship. The ministries and outreach of Westside Bible Fellowship are financially supported by those who are part of the fellowship. The Bible is full of commands to be generous because God is generous to us.

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT GIVING:

WE GIVE WILLINGLY
“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)

WE GIVE OUT OF LOVE
Giving is worship. Scripture calls us to give voluntarily as act of love and worship in response to the grace and forgiveness God has given us.

"We love because he first loved us." (1 John 4:19)

WE GIVE AS AN ACT OF FAITH
Giving in obedience to the Lord frees us from the danger of trusting in money instead of trusting in him. When we give generously and sacrificially, God promises to provide for our needs.

"Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need." (Malachi 3:10–11)

"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

WE GIVE OUT OF WISDOM
Being a generous person allows us to invest in eternity rather than in the temporary things of this world.

"Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal." (Matthew 6:20)

What are you investing in that is more important, more lasting, and more beautiful than the mission of Jesus?
