WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT

What to Do After "Sound of Freedom"

29Jul

Have you seen the movie, "Sound of Freedom"?

It has played to large crowds and has been critically acclaimed by many. This movie, excellently produced by Angel Studios, is about the horrors of human trafficking, an evil that is much worse than even the slavery of the 1800's. It's the true story of Tim Ballard, a former U.S. government agent, who quit his job to devote his life to rescuing children from global sex traffickers. The message of the movie is powerful and leaves many people deeply disturbed. It's PG-13 rating should be observed.

Many who have seen the movie have been left wondering what they can do to confront this awful evil. The Angel Studios’ website has a section with several suggestions.

Here are some other ways to get involved:
1. Be on the lookout for signs of human trafficking. Take
free training offered by the Department of Homeland Security about how to do this.
2. Pray and organize prayer groups to pray for the victims of trafficking and their families and to pray for individuals and organizations involved in rescuing.
3. Contact your legislators to raise awareness and ask what they are doing to expose child sex trafficking in your state and country.
4. Distribute the Operation Underground Railroad hotline number - 800-378-7888. Operation Underground Railroad was founded by Tim Ballard.
5. Access a series of short videos from the U.S. Office for Victims of Crime that orient viewers to the different “Faces of Human Trafficking” with accompanying materials like “Fact Sheets” and a discussion guide.
