Greg Livingstone, founder of Frontiers, passed into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, July 19. He was 85. He leaves his wife Sally and three sons. He was widely known as a consummate mobilizer with a heart for Muslim peoples. Bob Blincoe, President Emeritus of Frontiers USA, reminisced about him. “Greg used to say, ‘It’s a good beginning. But it’s too soon to celebrate, too soon to quit.’” Livingstone continued working to see the Gospel shared with Muslims until the end of his life. He mentored many, including Dick Papworth who was deeply impacted by Greg's zeal for missions in the 1960s.
Babu and Grace Thomas, our supported missionaries to the Halba people in India, give this report. In the Bible translation work, they are doing a final consultant check of the book of Deuteronomy. The tailoring class in Sadmud village had to be called off due to opposition from fanatical Hindus. They are looking for a Christian village to start the training. The Child Care Centers will get started on Aug.15. Grace will attend a translation workshop in Hyderabad, Andhra State. The topic of the workshop is "Basic Hebrew and the Narrative Genre of OT Books." They would appreciate our prayer.
Please pray earnestly for the Iranian people in general and Iranian Christians in particular. In the wake of the 12-day war between Israel and Iran, the Iranian regime has been escalating repression so that it’s worse than it was before. Please pray as if you yourself were living in Iran. And pray that God will continue to use this repression to cause Iranians to seek for truth through Jesus Christ. Pray that the Holy Spirit will use our various Voice of Christ media to show them the truth about Christ.
